The guys started out by catching live bait and EVERYONE participated for a change (ha/ha!). Switching to stripers they had a great run of fish with 3 and 4 on at a time. the gang nabbed their limit with fish coming over the rails to 25 pounds. Tough tide for late aftermnoon for fluking but ended ok with Steve weighing in the largest flattie at 4 1/2 pounds.

July 12, 2009
Aaron Dimunno and his friends came out to Snug Harbor for some shark fishing action. The guys started out trolling bass and blues. Switching gears to shark, it was a lsow start that quickly changed once we got rid of all the BANANAS on board! Great shark action with 7 blue sharks up to 250 pounds. We left them biting!

Sea Otter IV, with Captain Joel will now sail private charters 1-25 passengers from Snug Harbor RI. take advantage of those RI regs and book your trips today! The tide changed, we anchored up and then proceeded to whale on cod for the remainder of the trip. There were plenty of double headers to go around. Archie brought the pool over the rails at 24 pounds. Mostly bait was the trick but jigging was decent too. Had our limit by 11 and played catch and release for the next hour before we headed back to Snug Harbor. Left them biting for another day.

Next week open boat days are Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri. Scott D was high hook with 50 fish, including 6 doubleheaders and getting a sore arm tossing the overage back overboard.
This week we are looking at Tues, Thurs and Fri for open boat trips, with the week of 3/16 fairly open.
